Why is this observation not PAINFULLY obvious???

Question by Blue Sky: Why is this observation not PAINFULLY obvious???
Traditionally there are 3 classes of people: the aristocracy, the proletariat, and the bourgeoisie. The aristocracy live on the past because they come of noble family, the proletarians live in the present because they have nothing else, and the poor bourgeoisie live on faith and for the future and so they are the eternal suckers always open to a con game. They figure, “This material world is not the real world, but the spiritual world is the real world; and there will somewhere, somehow, an eternal life for me.” This hope for the future is a hoax. We say that maybe we will make spiritual progress, but in fact everyone puts it off. “Maybe if I work at yoga for 10 or 20 years, I will eventually make it to moksha or nirvana.” But that is nothing more than a postponement because if you are not fully alive now, how do you think maybe someday you will be?
So when you enter into the practice of religion, it is supposed to be good for you – but it has nothing to do with anything -
it is just another activity you do for the sake of the activity. Obviously it will not lead you anywhere, because you cannot go to the place you are now.

Okay, you’ve been reading too much European history and got confused. There never was NEVER a traditional 3 class of aristocracy, proleteriat, and bourgeoisie. What happened to the peasants? Bourgeoisies are NOT the peasants.

Trust me I just took my AP European exam.

It would not be painfully obvious to the eternal suckers always open to a con game.

Assuming your premise is true, you answered your own question, didn’t you?

I agree. God did not promise us eternal life “out there somewhere”. I experience eternal life every day, some days more than others. I am as fully alive as I can be on this earth. When I die, I will become complete; I will experience life as God originally intended it to be. I will know what it is like to be with Him, to never experience pain or hurt or anger or frustration or illness; and to know that it will never end. I keep this hope every day and that is why I believe I am as alive as I can be on this earth.

I thought religion was the opiate of the masses, not the bourgeoisie.

can you boil that down to a few sentences? I don’t know what your point is.

If you are knocking faith and people need faith then what is it to you. Go clean your room

what IS painfully obvious with your self righteous and narrow minded attitude.

Marxism is incredible the thing about the proletariat and the bourgeoisie is that Marx wanted there to be a revolution so that the proletariat (the low class) could advance and gain equality so think about that in real life maybe that’s what you’re looking for

I agree that there were other classes of people… and I think that part is irrelevant to what you are ultimatly trying to say… I think you are trying to question why people put off attaining their spirtuality. What the level of spirituality is individualistic, but to tell yourself that someday you will be spirtual is basicly defeating the purpose of what spirituality is. If that is right your argument lacks a few details that would make it stronger but I think it should be painfully obvious that people are self defeating.
