Can I go crazy from yoga breathing?

Question by noemy: Can I go crazy from yoga breathing?
I am looking forward to start a breathing exercise routine at home with no trainers, just with internet information. My mom said that by doing yoga with no trainer I can go crazy, nut I don’t think it has anything to do with that. Can I get help? Thank you anticipated :D ;)

Hahaha. Sorry, that was just one of those things that’s insanely absurd.
Sure, you could go crazy, but sitting at home doing nothing can make you crazy. So can reading books, or driving, anything really.
But, in all honestly, it won’t make you go looney. I do yoga at home with no trainer, and I’m pretty sure I’m ok.

Q&A: What Is a Realistic Time Frame for Weight Loss Results?

Question by adacrya: What Is a Realistic Time Frame for Weight Loss Results?
I have just recently joined a gym and I have met with a personal trainer, whom I will be seeing every two weeks. I am looking at losing 25-30 pounds and gaining some muscle mass. I have also minimized my portions and cut back my daily calorie intake. If I am weight training 3x a week, doing cardio 4x a week for a minimum of 30 minutes and doing gentle yoga once a week what would be a realistic time line for me to see results?

You might consider George Feuerstein’s “The Yoga Tradition: Its History, Literature, Philosophy and Practice.”

http://www.amazon.com/Yoga-Tradition-Literature-Philosophy-Practice/dp/1890772186

As you qualified, it is by no means only about the practice of postures (asana).
The only reason it may not be for beginners is because it does go into (what seemed like to me) a lot of detail, and into various paths of yoga, that I wasn’t too interested in. Thus, a certain amount of it felt like very dry reading.

Of course, your level of interest may give you a different experience.
The reviews of the book posted by others at Amazon may be useful to you.
